Boris Betancourt, M.D.

Dr. Boris Betancourt is a dedicated, triple board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Sleep Medicine at Pulmonary Physicians of South Florida (PPSF). He earned his medical degree from the University of Medical Science of Havana before relocating to the U.S. to complete his Internal Medicine training at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in New York. Dr. Betancourt further honed his specialized expertise through a Pulmonary Medicine fellowship at SUNY Downstate and an advanced Sleep Medicine fellowship at NYU Langone-Long Island.

With 6 years of focused clinical practice, Dr. Betancourt is a leading expert in managing a wide array of complex respiratory and sleep issues. His special areas of interest include asthma, COPD, lung cancer, interstitial lung diseases, obstructive and central sleep apnea, and narcolepsy. He is highly proficient in pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and interpreting detailed sleep studies. He holds active hospital affiliations with the Memorial Healthcare System and is a proud member of the AASM, ACCP, and ATS.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Betancourt deeply understands how breathing and sleep difficulties can impact every aspect of daily life. He is passionate about listening carefully to his patients, clearly explaining their conditions, and crafting highly tailored, effective treatment plans. Outside of his professional endeavors, he cherishes traveling, sports, and spending quality time with his family.
